I wanted to share some great math and literacy worksheets for preschool kids! These were created with preschoolers in mind, so the print is bigger and each page has just enough work on the page to challenge your preschooler without overwhelming them!
Why Worksheets for Preschool?
Worksheets can be a great tool to help preschoolers learn and develop their skills. Using worksheets can help children learn numbers, letters, basic shapes, colors, and more. It’s also a great way to help them practice their fine motor skills, such as tracing and writing. Additionally, it gives them a sense of accomplishment when they complete a task, which can help build their self-esteem and confidence. It can also help them develop their problem-solving skills and creativity. Finally, it’s an easy and convenient way to introduce new concepts and ideas to children.
Preschool Letter Worksheets
This one is a fun one because your preschooler can use dot markers or highlighters. They will identify the letter at the bottom and then find each matching letter on the page. This page includes uppercase and lowercase. The letters on the bottom (not pictured) are traceable, so your preschooler will practice writing each letter, too!
Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Sorting Worksheet
Next, I have a great activity that includes some fine motor practice! Your preschooler will cut out each letter and then sort it on their worksheet. Each letter is in a slightly different font, so your preschooler can see how that letter can look a little different in some situations.
I love this one because the size of each letter is perfect for preschoolers. Sometimes tracing worksheets for preschoolers are too small or include too many letters. They are left discouraged and start to not enjoy writing. This letter tracing worksheet is not that! It includes a picture to color of an object that starts with that letter then six letters to trace.
Preschool Math Worksheets
This number dot worksheet is a great one to review numbers. This worksheet includes a ten frame, a number, and tracing numbers on the bottom. Your preschooler can use a dot marker to dot the ten frame and number. Then, they can practice tracing on the bottom.
Learning colors is a great way to practice basic math skills, as it helps to develop visual and spatial recognition. It can help with fundamental mathematical concepts such as counting, sorting, and distinguishing between different shapes and sizes. Additionally, by learning the names of colors, preschoolers can also practice their literacy skills. This worksheet will help your preschooler identify objects of each color and practice tracing!
