We are diving under the seas for these activities. I have 6 under the sea activities to share with you! Most of them are mermaid-themed activities for your preschoolers but there are also seashells and crabs, too!
Under the Sea Activities for Preschoolers
Color Word Mermaid Tail Matching
This first one is a fun color word-matching activity. I drew mermaid tails but you could also draw fish. I wrote the color word by each tail and we took dot markers to fill in each tail. We matched the color word on our mermaid tail with the color word on the side of the dot marker.
Mermaid Beginning Sound
This is a fun coloring sheet but also has your preschooler working on beginning sounds. Here they will color and then write in the missing letter to finish the sentence! You can color with crayons or pull out watercolor paints for something different!
Mermaid Name Worksheet
This is a freebie in my free library (search “mermaidname”)! You can pick the mermaid you want and then type your preschooler’s name. We used small shells we had found at the beach but you could also use buttons, beads, or small pieces of paper to trace over the letters in their name.
Seashell Color Match
I put these seashell color cards into a sensory bin filled with dyed chickpeas. Your preschooler will pick a colored seashell, find the color word on their recording sheet, then color it to match. If your preschooler has a hard time matching the words, you can make a little matching colored dot by each color word to help!
Crab Counting and Number Match
This one comes with number cards and counting cards. We used the number cards to identify and match. You can put the counting cards in the sensory bin to practice counting and then identify the number.
Seashell 2D Shape Match
The last activity is a 2D shape match. You can put the 2D shell cards into a sensory bin. Your preschooler will pick a card, identify the shape, then trace or color it on their recording sheet. You can also encourage them to use the matching marker to trace or color.
