I wanted to quickly share some turkey activities for Thanksgiving that you can use next week when your kids are off of school! I have included some art activities, freebies, and learning activities for you!
Turkey Activities for Thanksgiving Math Activities
Turkey Patterns
Need to work on patterns? Try this one out. I drew a giant turkey on a piece of paper. I put lines on each turkey feather then we took dot stickers to create a pattern along each line. The line helps keep the pattern straight so you can do more than one on each feather. If you don’t have dot stickers you could use dot markers, different stickers, or markers. For the markers, you could draw circles in a line and your kiddos can color in the circles to make a pattern.
Counting Turkey Feathers
This one is included in the freebie link above. For this one, your kids will color their turkey and then glue feathers to it. Once they finish, they will count the turkey feathers and write the number. If you don’t have turkey feathers, you can cut some out of construction paper or have them draw them on.
Turkey Activities for Thanksgiving Letter Activities
T is for Turkey Page
This one is a little art and learning in one! We painted our turkey using a pom pom (or cotton ball) dipped in paint, then when we finished we finished the sentence by writing the letter ‘t’. This is a great way to talk about the letter ‘t’ and the sound it makes while your kids paint their turkey page.
Turkey Activities for Thanksgiving Art Projects
Fork Painting Turkeys
Let’s dive into some Thanksgiving art activities. This fork painting turkey is a fun one. I used a coffee filter but you can use white paper. We took a plastic fork dipped in paint and then stamped it all over the coffee filter. I made a body out of brown paper and added a face. If your kids are like mine, they will want to make more than one, so add tape them to a ribbon and you have a cute Thanksgiving banner decoration.
Handprint Turkey
This is a cute one to do every Thanksgiving! Trace your kid’s hands on different colored construction paper. You and your kids can cut out each handprint and then place them in a half circle. Cut out a turkey body and glue that on top of the hand prints. I usually write the year on the bottom of the body, too! This would be a cute Thanksgiving gift for grandparents!
