I want to share these sub plans for kindergarten packs! We always have those days when we need sub plans for our classroom and it is usually last minute. I have you covered! Just print, add a book to read, and you are all set.
Sub Plans for Kindergarten
Background:
I first want to give background on why I created these sub plans for kindergarten. I missed a lot of school when I was pregnant with my twins. The type of twins they were (mono-di) meant I was at an even higher risk than the other type of twins. That meant I had A LOT of appointments. I was going in about 2 times a week which meant I would have to miss a little bit of school every week. I tried to make appointments early in the morning or after school but that wasn’t always available. I created a template of lesson plans and activities that followed the same layout every time and the activities I left were simple! One that most of my kids could easily do independently. This is what I put into these plans to make it as easy as just clicking print! I have a pack for any time of year, too!
What’s Included:
Editable Information Pages, Notes for the Teacher, and Step-by-Step Lesson Plans
I included editable pages for you to have on hand like the class list, schedule, etc. I also have a teacher’s note for you to read over that will help you lay out the materials for your sub. It will tell you the choices you have for each subject. There is more than one activity for each subject! There is also a lesson plan for the sub with step-by-step instructions. Each lesson plan has a spot to write in extra instructions, too (add in a book they might read or what the kids can do when they finish their activities).
Subjects included in each pack:
Literacy:
Traceable emergent reader
Main character or settings worksheet to complete after a story
Sight word practice with two worksheet choices
Writing with sentence builder worksheets or writing prompt worksheets
Math:

3 different skills with activities to choose from with worksheets (teen numbers, addition, or patterns)
Science:
STEM idea-free time to build with blocks or other toys you have in your classroom

There is also an extra activity for each pack. Usually a coloring/art project
Sub Plans for Kindergarten: Helpful Tips
- You can use every single activity to fill in your day or pick the ones that should fill in your day.
- Add a book before each subject. Having a simple routine (book, lesson, worksheet) will make the day go smoother.
- Adding in extras can be added to the lesson plan sheet or add a post-it note for extra reminders to the sub.
