I have a tasty pre-K graphing activity for you to use during math this spring! These free graphing worksheets can be used with the treat I suggest or you can print off colored objects to match the colors in the graphing freebie.
Pre-k Graphing Activity: Supplies
This graphing activity should be used more in the spring only because you will need to buy the seasonal bunny marshmallows that are only available around Easter. You will also need the sorting and graphing worksheets. Search “spring marshmallow graph” in my Free Library!
Spring Sorting Activty
The first part of this activity is a sorting activity. You will give your preschooler a handful of marshmallows. Try to get each color! Your preschooler will take the spring sorting sheet and sort each marshmallow onto each circle. I had my preschoolers color each circle first. This way I could prep the marshmallows while they worked on coloring.
Why should preschoolers learn to graph?
Learning to graph can be a fun and exciting way for preschoolers to practice their math skills. Graphing helps children develop important math skills such as counting and pattern recognition, as well as problem-solving and critical thinking skills. It also allows children to express themselves creatively and develop their understanding of data and how to interpret it. Lastly, graphing helps foster an appreciation for data, which is an important skill in the modern world.
Spring Graphing Activity
The second part of this spring-themed activity is to graph the marshmallows. I had my preschoolers put the marshmallows on each box and then mark it with the matching crayon. Then, they removed each marshmallow and colored in the boxes to match the number. Once they were all done graphing, they could eat them!
