I have 3 math activities for Halloween that you can do with your preschooler this October! Your preschoolers will work on color matching, 2D shape sorting, and counting. Scroll down to find a bonus freebie, too!
Halloween Math Activities for Preschool
Halloween Math Activity: 2D Shape Sort
First, I want to share with you a fun 2D shape sorting activity. I always print off 2-3 copies of the 2D shapes and have my preschoolers sort them on their 2D shape mats. I usually flip all the cards upside down and have them pick a card, identify it, and sort it using the mat. If you do not want to use the mat you can put all the shapes on a pile and tell them to put them in matching groups.
Halloween Math Activity: Color Match
Next, I wanted to share this spooky color match activity. You can print off multiple copies of the bats to encourage sorting or print off one copy of the bats. Then, you can print off the bat coloring sheet and have your preschooler color in the matching bat as they match on their mats.
Halloween Math Activity: Counting Spiders
Finally, I wanted to share this freebie! I printed each mat on bright cardstock. Then, I added plastic spider rings. You can usually find these at Target or Dollar Tree. My preschoolers would pick a mat, identify the number, then match the spiders. Once your preschoolers are finished they can take the number mats and put them in order from 1-10!
Halloween Match Activity: BONUS Spider Ten Frames
I have one more to add to this post! This spider ten frame match is perfect for a sensory bin! It also includes a number tracing sheet that you can use as a recording sheet or just a tracing page. Head on over here to grab this and over 80 other fall/Halloween resources!
