Color Match Activities for Easter
I have a few different color-matching activities so I am going to share those first!
Bunny and Egg Color Match
For the first one, lay out the bunny cards. Then, have your toddler or preschooler choose an egg and match it to the colored bunny. You can put the egg cards into a sensory bin or place them upside down close to the bunnies. As your child is matching, make sure they are identifying the colors that they are matching.
Pom Pom Match
For the next one, you will need colored plastic Easter eggs and pom poms that match the color of your eggs. You will put both of the supplies out and your preschooler will pick a pom pom up and place it in the egg that matches. If you have jumbo tweezers, add this to the activity to work on some fine motor! This is a great way for your preschooler to have fun but also strengthen their hand muscles!
Egg Color Card Matching
This next one is a simple color matching. They aren’t pattern cards but a color strip to follow using colored eggs. You will need Easter eggs and the color strips. This is a great way for your preschooler to start following a pattern. This isn’t a typical pattern like a said but more focused on following directions.
Easter Math Activities
Easter Egg Addition
The first Easter math activity I have for you can be focused on number recognition, counting, addition, or all of the above. You will draw easter eggs with a number on the top and the bottom. Then, your kids will identify the numbers and make dots to match the number. You can have them add all the dots together if you want to take it one step further! I also encouraged color matching, but that is totally up to you, too!
2D Bunny Shape Match
Next up, 2D bunny shape matching! You will print off the bunny shape mats and the carrot shape cards. Put the carrot shapes into a sensory bin, then have your preschooler pick a shape, identify it, and then match it to the mat. Another fun activity to do with the shape mats is to take small objects and use them to trace around each shape.
Extra Easter Activities
Egg Letter Match
This one includes uppercase and lowercase cards. I took out our resin letters from Chars Jars for this instead. You can use the cards or any letter manipulatives you have at home. I put each letter in an Easter egg, then hid them around our playroom. After my kids found them, they identified the letter and matched it to the letter egg.
Easter Sensory Bin
The final activity is a simple Easter sensory bin using supplies you have around the house or using themed supplies you can grab at Target (these toys would be perfect and only $5) or Dollar Tree. I filled a container of water and let my toddlers scoop and pour objects into the water. Adding a few spoons and cups is always a huge hit, too!
I can’t stop there! Check out more bunny activities.
