Why Do Coloring Activities?

Coloring helps to develop fine motor skills. It gives young kids the opportunity to practice holding and controlling a pencil, crayon, or marker. It helps kids to recognize colors and develop their sense of color recognition.

Coloring Activities for Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Beyond

Like I said before we LOVE coloring. We were sent these big coloring posters from Creative Crayons Workshop. They are GIANT poster-sized coloring sheets that can be colored using crayons, markers, and paints! We love how big they are and they can be used as a table cover but you could also hang them up on the wall as a decoration. Check out all the different posters they have to offer.

Coloring Poster Themes

Creative Crayons Workshop provides a lot of different options. They have table covers, a subscription (you can get one month free + free shipping), placemats, and even coloring supplies. They have lots of different holidays and themes to choose from. We got the fairytale and Christmas ones. They even have a personalized option that you can get your child’s name printed on it. This is perfect for a birthday party activity.

How can coloring activities help my child?

Coloring helps to build concentration and focus. When kids sit down to color, they must stay focused on the task at hand and not become distracted. It also helps to encourage spatial awareness. As kids color, they learn to think about how the colors are placed on the page and what shapes they form. This helps them to understand spatial concepts better.
