I want to share some books to listen to now! These audiobooks I listened to in March. They are a mix of thriller and romance. I gave them a 4 or 5 rating on Goodreads, too!
Thriller and Romance Books to Listen to Now
I just recently got into audiobooks and have really loved listening to them throughout the day. I like that I can still get stuff done around the house but also read a book. I usually get my audiobooks through the Libby app which is just connected to my library card. I can check out audiobooks and listen to them in the app. I also found that Kindle Unlimited has some Kindle books with audio included. You can listen to those audiobooks through the Kindle app.
Romance Audiobooks
The Plus One
The Plus One is the first book I’ve read from Mazey Eddings. And WOW! It was so good! This also happens to be book 3 in a series but can be a standalone as I had no issues with it. I know a lot of the characters are in previous books but they give enough of an introduction to them that it doesn’t feel like something is missing from the story.
Ok, Indira breaks up with her boyfriend and has to move in with her brother and his fiance. No big deal? Well, her brother is about to get married so his best friend, Jude, is staying with them while he is on a break from his job. Indira and Jude do NOT get along…or do they?
I really loved how this story could really happen in real life. The trauma both characters faced and how they are dealing with it is so relevant. The way they navigated their relationship was so good! There wasn’t the annoying miscommunication but actual communication and since they grew up with each other they had more of an understanding.
The perfect brother’s best friend/childhood friends/enemies to lovers romance!
Beauty and the Baller
Beauty and the Baller was so cute! I loved the second chance romance of it, the big city to a small town, and fake dating!
Nova and Ronan have a pretty awful one-night stand. Two years later she finds out they live next door to each other. He is the new football coach and she is back home after tragedy strikes her family finding herself caring for her younger sister. He doesn’t recognize her at first but soon he realizes she is the one that got away. They both are trying to avoid dating so to get everyone off their backs and decide to fake date. We KNOW that never works out well!
If you’re looking for a spicy, sports romance, this is your book!
Thriller Audiobooks
Good Girls Lie
Good Girls Lie is a good private boarding school thriller! The students at this school pretend to follow the rules, no one questions the cruelties of the secret societies or the dubious behavior of the privileged young women who expect to get away with murder. I loved the messed-up traditions and the mean girls. There are always a few mean girls in these boarding school books. But a stranger has come to Goode, and this ivy has turned poisonous.
The book starts out with a murder and there are a couple more throughout.
There is a big twist towards the end and the ending is so perfect (shocking, but perfect)!
The Inmate
The Inmate starts with Brooke Sullivan who is the new nurse practitioner at a men’s maximum-security prison: Nobody knows about her intimate connection to Shane Nelson, one of the penitentiary’s most notorious and dangerous inmates.
And they certainly don’t know that Shane was Brooke’s high school sweetheart—the star quarterback who is now spending the rest of his life in prison for a series of grisly murders. Or that Brooke’s testimony was what put him there.
But Shane knows. And he will never forget. I thought I had it all figured out but I was only a little right 🤣 Another one is full of twists and you know if you think you can predict what is going to happen Freida throws in the best twists throwing your prediction out the window!
The Other Woman
The Other Woman has the most shocking ending! Emily thinks Adam’s perfect; the man she thought she’d never meet. But lurking in the shadows is a rival; a woman who shares a deep bond with the man she loves.
Emily chose Adam, but she didn’t choose his mother Pammie. There’s nothing a mother wouldn’t do for her son, and now Emily is about to find out just how far Pammie will go to get what she wants: Emily is gone forever.
Pammie was getting on my nerves! She was the worst! She seemed so manipulative and I was waiting for the twist! It doesn’t come until the very end but it is shocking.
My head is still spinning after that ending and how everything could have gone differently if someone would have just said something!!
The Lying Club
This one starts out with someone hurt at the prep school that centers around the book. We don’t know who or if they are ok! Then we go back 6 months to learn what could have led up to this. In between chapters we have police transcripts from a secretary at the school.
There are a lot of different students, teachers, parents, and people in general in this book! It took me a little bit to remember who was who.
I liked that we don’t really know who is hurt at the school and why they would be there!
This one is a mystery up until the end! We don’t know how everything is connected and even at the end we are left wondering what could happen next.
Such a Quiet Place
Such a Quiet Place starts off with the Ruby getting released from prison after being arrested for the double murder of a couple in her neighborhood. She lived with a woman who owned a house in the neighborhood so when she was released she went right back to where it all happened. Weird things start happening and secrets start to be revealed.
Some parts in the middle seemed long and not a lot was happening. The ending was so surprising and a little heartbreaking in the grand scheme of things.
I linked all the books off Amazon! If you want to pay for a subscription and listen to books without waiting for the library, I would check out Audible!
