Book Review: Desire or Defense

book review for desire or defense

Summary

I’m not the hero in this story.

I’m the villain…

The notoriously angry, grouchy, D.C. Eagles defenseman that just can’t keep his temper in check. The temper that leads to a fifteen game suspension from the NHL.

As if that’s not bad enough, I’m forced into a short term youth-hockey coaching gig. Which my manager swears will “rebuild my image.”

But what I didn’t expect was for a gorgeous, spunky blonde to stomp onto the ice on day one and lecture me about being rude to her little brother.

Something about this spitfire of a woman, and the boy she’s so protective of, has my defenses melting.

And if I’m not careful, I’ll burst into flames, forever melting the ice I’ve carefully kept around my heart.

Review

This one was so cute! The perfect grumpy/sunshine romance!

Andie is her brother’s legal guardian after their parents died. Noah’s a great hockey player but obviously, the death of their parents has been hard on him and he’s having issues on the ice.

Mitch is an NHL player who spends a lot of time in the penalty box due to his temper. He gets suspended and has to coach a kid’s hockey team-Noah’s team.

Mitch soon realizes he doesn’t know what he’s doing as a kid’s hockey coach and Andie is there to tell him he can’t be so mean to the players😂

As Mitch goes through therapy and finds himself connecting to Noah he starts opening up more which is the perfect recipe for a new relationship!

Andie and Mitch have a good relationship. They both went through some tough stuff but their banter and openness makes you love them more.

This one is so heartwarming, heartbreaking, and funny! I was hooked right away!
