I want to share some of our favorite non-toxic household products that we use daily!
Trying to find the safest products to use around the hose can always be a little tricky when there are so many different products out there! I want to share some products we use or have used that I highly recommend.
Non-Toxic Household Products for Every Day Cleaning
Branch Basics Household Concentrate
This is a multi-purpose, eco-friendly cleaning solution used for any cleaning job when diluted with water. Branch Basics offer a starter kit that includes the concentrate plus bottles that have measurements on the side so you know how much water and concentrate you need. I like this one because you do not use a lot of the concentrate so one bottle will last a very long time. Since the concentrate is non-toxic there is no added fragrance. I didn’t love the scent so I would put a couple of drops of essential oils to add a little scent to it. You can choose between plastic or glass bottles, but I will share a great, affordable glass bottle option below.
Thieves Household Cleaner
The Thieves Household Cleaner is similar to Branch Basics, however, this has Thieves essential oil already in the bottle (and it smells amazing)! You use a cap full of the cleaner and then fill the rest of your bottle with water. I prefer this cleaner over Branch Basics only for its scent. Since you are only using a cap full, this cleaner lasts a long time!
Reusable Paper Towel
Wettex Swedish Cloths
I have two reusable paper towel options to share with you!
The Wettex Swedish Cloths was the first one I tried over a year ago. They are super absorbent and can clean up almost any spill with only one cloth. They can be washed in your washing machine hundreds of times! One cloth can replace 15 rolls of paper towels, too! The best part is they are biodegradable so when they are needing to be replaced you know they aren’t going to harm the environment.
Geometry: Not Paper Towel
I bought the Geometry ones a little after I got the Wettex ones. These are thinner and mimic a paper towel more in my opinion. However, the Wettex ones are more absorbent. I recommend washing these first because they are softer and more absorbent after that first wash. This highlights another great point, they are washable. I actually have a small laundry bag under my sink and throw the dirty cloths inside. Then, on laundry day I will grab the laundry bag and throw it right in the washer. All the cloths stay together and it is easy to bring them back downstairs without searching for each cloth in the laundry.
Glass Spray Bottles
I found these glass spray bottles on Amazon. They come in a three pack and are very durable! They have a silicone bottom so they won’t break just by setting them on your counter.
Bissell Steam Mop
I bought this Bissell Steam Mop almost 2 years ago and use it every week. You can use it more than once a week on the lower steam setting if you have hardwoods but it has two different settings plus an attachment for small spots you need to scrub a little bit more. I bought a few replacement mop heads to use, too!
Non-Toxic Household Products for Laundry
Branch Basics Wool Dryer Balls
I used to use dryer sheets and made the switch after trying to cut out fragrances from our household. I bought dryer balls from Branch Basics.
Blur Laundry Soap
I love blur because not only is it made with clean ingredients (no fragrances) it still smells amazing because they use essential oils to scent all their laundry powders! It is hard to find a clean detergent that smells good, cleans your clothes, and has clean ingredients but this one does all of that!
