I have a cute back to school name activity to share with you! These are great projects to do during the first few weeks of school and make an adorable decoration for your classroom, home, or playroom.
Back to School Name Activity
This activity is pretty easy to prep and some of the parts can be done by your preschoolers. The art supplies you will need yellow, blue, and black construction paper. As well as, a marker, glue, and scissors. I cut out the outline of each bus. However, you can make a stencil and have them trace and then cut their buses out. The same can go for the wheels. You will also need a strip of blue paper for the windows/letters of their name.
There are a few ways you can do this based on how familiar your child is with their name. I will give you 3 ways based on that level
Your Child Can Spell and Write Their Name
If your child knows their name, then I would give them the piece of blue paper and have them write their name on it. Then, they will cut it out and glue it on their bus.
Your Child Can Spell and Copy Their Name
If your child knows how to spell it but not how to write it on their own, try writing their name on the bus first. Then, give them a blue piece of paper to copy those letters onto it. Finally, they can cut it apart and glue it on their bus.
Your Child is Just Starting to Learn their Name
For this one, you will write their name on the bus and the blue sheet. You can cut the letters apart or have them do it. Then, you will work closely with them as they put each letter on top of the letter they are matching. Make sure to say the letters as they are working, too!
Once they have their name glued on, they can glue on their wheels. This is a great activity to review letters in their name and a way for them to be exposed to those letters if they are just starting out learning letters. Learning letters can be tricky but learning letters through your child’s name is an easy way to start out! Plus, they will make the cutest decoration and one they will constantly see so they will always be seeing those important letters!
Back to school can be a busy time, so check out these easy prep activities for that time of year!
